Obviously, we want your team to be able to participate in our tribute BetaBots challenge Homage this season.
Terms and Conditions for teams
- Adhere to the values of the FIRST programs
- Keep the team profile and contact information of the two coaches up to date on the FIRSTinspires.org portal
- Pay the participation fees (which can be part of a service package)
- Be able to organize safe robotics activities for all participants
- Comply with all the health requirements in force
- Encourage remote work and collaboration
- Reduce the size, frequency and duration of face-to-face collaborative work sessions
- Set up disinfection routines for shared equipment
- Monitor and raise awareness of health risks and measures
- Structure and plan the work
- Be able to mobilize the FIRST team to elect 2 to 4 BetaBots teams (minimum 3 students per BetaBots team)
- Commit to submitting a FIRST Team nomination for at least one of the FIRST Team awards and abide by the conditions.
- Commit to submitting each BetaBots team’s entry for at least one of the BetaBots team awards and abide by the conditions.
- Confirm access to a room large enough to build the Homage field and hold the intramural BetaBots tournament (a minimum of 8 hours required). Here are two possible configurations:
- Confirm being able to ensure the security and integrity of the equipment loaned by Robotique FIRST Québec:
- Homage field (carpets, walls, game pieces (tubes), tube stand bases, tube stores, pyramid, accessories and tools for the field)
- 2 to 4 BetaBots kits (complete BetaBase with control system, laptop, controller, one battery)
- 2 sets of bumpers, 1 battery charger
- Scorer’s laptop, 2 cameras for recording matches and teams presentation, 2 tripods
- Confirm the availability of 2 to 3 volunteers (members of the FIRST team or the community) for the set-up / tear-down of the field
- Confirm the availability of 1-2 volunteers for the tournament (referee and scorer)
- Confirm the availability of a coach or mentor during the interview between the students and the judges, as an observer without the right to intervene
- Be able to transmit a report (template provided) within 5 days of the tournament and compiling the results necessary to confirm winning team and awards
- Respect the booked dates for the BetaBots field and Betabases
- Comply with the various announced deadlines
